CONTENT
All aspects of the programme are compulsory. The GradDipT (Primary) papers cover themes such as the NZ Curriculum, classroom management, the teaching and learning process, and educational policies and practices.
PRACTICUM
Teaching practice in schools, comprising both block practicum and weekly placement, is directly related to papers in the programme. Students will practice their teaching skills, undertake observations, and work with children. While on practicum, students receive visits from School of Education lecturers, and guidance from experienced teachers. Block practica occur in February, June/July, and from mid-October to mid-December.
