Stephen Elting

From Pensacola, Florida, U.S.A., Stephen attended university on a theatre scholarship and majored in Drama and English.

He earned his Master’s degree in Language Arts and began his teaching career. Stephen has taught middle and high school English and Drama and ESL in the U.S., Japan and Hong Kong.

He uses the performance poetry method in his classrooms and knows first hand how it generates language learning and builds self-confidence in students.

As an actor and director, Stephen created a performance poetry show called Word Up! which debuted at the 2004 Faust Festival of Hong Kong and continues to tour schools throughout the year.

Stephen currently teaches English and Theatre Arts at the American International School of Hong Kong.
