Rishma Dunlop is the author of three books of poetry: The Body of My Garden, Reading Like a Girl, and Metropolis. She is co-editor of Red Silk: An Anthology of South Asian Canadian Women Poets and editor of the forthcoming anthology White Ink.

Winner of the 2003 Emily Dickinson Award, her work includes essays, memoir, radio drama, and fiction.

Her interdisciplinary research interests include environmental studies, literary theory, cultural studies, creative writing, art and aesthetics.

She is a professor in the faculties of English and Education at York University, Toronto, and will be the coordinator of the Creative Writing Program in Fall 2007.

She is currently Poet in Residence (2006-2007) at The Centre for Cross Faculty Inquiry at The University of British Columbia and founding editor of Studio (http://www.Studiopoetry.ca).
