Linda Laidlaw is an associate professor in language and literacy education in the Department of Elementary Education at the University of Alberta.

Formerly a classroom teacher in British Columbia, her current research focuses on digital and mobile technologies in primary education, early literacy, diversity, drama education, and complexity thinking. She is currently the primary investigator on two Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Grants: Literacy learning in playful spaces: Using multi-modal strategies to develop narrative with young learners; and A comparative investigation of pedagogical possibilities of digital tools for family and school early literacy education.
