Deborah Jones

Deborah Jones is a Reader in Education at Brunel University, West London.

Her specific research interest is gender in education, with a focus on male teachers in the Early Years.

Dr. Jones has extensive experience teaching in primary schools and has worked for local education authority advisory and inspectorate services.

In addition, she has directed and developed an international degree course for teachers in Hong Kong.

Presently she is involved in initial teacher education where her focus is on the development of literacy skills in young children. Current research involves evaluating school practice and curriculum implementation by exploring the perceptions and views of the main stakeholders.
