Dr. Malcolm Reed is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol.

He completed the PGCE and MA (Educ) programmes at the University of London’s Institute of Education and taught English in Hackney secondary schools in the Inner London Education Authority throughout the 1980s.

For many years Malcolm ran the PGCE English programme for secondary school English teachers at the University of Bristol.

He continues to work with trainee teachers, whilst teaching doctoral studies in narrative inquiry and research methods, and supervising PhD students in literacy studies, classroom interaction and applied sociocultural theory.

Malcolm also discusses classroom activity in the ‘Anatomy of a Lesson’ series on Teachers TV.
