Ana Ferreira lectures English at the School of Education at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She teaches courses in critical literacy, film, media and popular culture, sociolinguistics and language in education. Her current research project uses a teaching intervention in the secondary school English classroom to investigate the relationship between South African youth identities and pedagogy in the context of social change.
