Dr Arthur Stuart Firkins is a sociolinguist, educator and consultant interested in social policy and its application to global communities. He is a member of the Centre for Language in Social Life, Department of Linguistics, Macquarie University – Sydney. Dr Firkins has worked in policy for the New South Wales and the Northern Territory Governments, the Education and Manpower Bureau in Hong Kong and the South East Asian Ministers of Education Organization, Singapore. Dr Firkins presently works in the Middle-East as a consultant for BAE-Systems.
