Melanie Shoffner is Assistant Professor of English Education at Purdue University, with a joint appointment in the Departments of English and Curriculum & Instruction. Her research focuses on issues of reflective practice and secondary English teacher preparation, with specific interest in the role of the affective domain in teacher preparation, the place of technology in reflection and issues of practice identified by beginning English teachers. Dr. Shoffner has presented her work at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Conference, the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) Conference, the National Association of Teachers of English (NATE) and the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Conference. Her work has been published in English Journal, Teaching Education, English Education, Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE), Teacher Education Quarterly, Teaching and Teacher Education and Reflective Practice.
