Dawan Coombs recently completed her PhD in Language and Literacy Education at the University of Georgia. Before coming to the University of Georgia she taught high school English and reading. Her research interests include adolescent literacy and struggling readers, teacher education, Bakhtinian theory, and dialogic teaching approaches. In the fall of 2012 she will begin working as an assistant professor of English at Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah, USA), teaching in the English education program.
