Alecia Marie Magnifico

Dr. Alecia Marie Magnifico is a learning scientist whose research focuses on literacies, learning, and adolescents' writing for different audiences. She is a former middle school teacher, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a current postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Much of Alecia's work describes and theorizes adolescents' literacies in different contexts (e.g., school, extracurricular, online communities). She also enjoys working with teachers to develop curricula and methods for studying and understanding classroom writing.
