Michelle Knotts is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language, Culture and Society at Pennsylvania State University where she also teaches undergraduate courses in English Education and teaching English to English Language Learners (ELL’s). Michelle has fifteen years of experience as a secondary English Language Arts teacher and English department chair. Her research and teaching interests include critical teacher education, the impact of policy on practice, and narrative inquiry and pedagogy. Michelle's current research explores narrative practices as instructional tools to foster critical reflection in pre-service teachers.
