Dr Muhammad M. M. Abdel Latif is a lecturer of English language teaching at the Institute of Educational Studies, Cairo University. He completed his PhD in 2009 at the University of Essex, UK. His doctoral research was granted three prestigious international awards:

  • The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)-Modern Language Journal 2009 Emma Marie Birkmaier Award for Doctoral Dissertation Research in Foreign Language Education;
  • The Canadian Modern Language Review 2009 Best Graduate Student Paper Award;
  • The 2008 Sheikh Nahayan Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship granted by The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF) as one of three PhD projects contributing significantly to the teaching and learning of English in the Arab world.
Dr Abdel Latif has published in ranked international journals, including Canadian Modern Language Review and Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Education.
