Amanda Naylor is course leader for the Secondary English PGCE at Hull University and is also a tutor in English Education at York University. Her personal research for her doctorate is Encountering the Early Modern in the Subject of English. She has collaborated recently with the Buryat State University, Ulan Ude, Russia on the project King Lear in Siberia, looking at ways to explore culture and identity through classic literature. Amanda’s previous experience has been as an Advanced Skills Teacher in English, her focus being on promoting and exemplifying excellent teaching at a whole school level and being the English Subject Mentor Chair for the Bromley Schools’ Collegiate SCITT scheme. She also organized and delivered a number of summer schools for the Able, Gifted and Talented. Amanda has also been a Head of English in two comprehensives and a Senior Teacher in London.

Amanda Naylor took her BA at Manchester University, a PGCE at London University and an MA in Renaissance Literature at York University. She is studying for her doctorate at York University.
