Michael Chesnut is a faculty member in the Department of English Interpretation and Translation at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea and PhD ABD in Curriculum and Instruction at The Pennsylvania State University. His dissertation is an ethnography of "foreign" English teachers’ experiences negotiating gender and desire in Korea. He is especially interested in examining teacher development that occurs as teachers move and teach in new places and cultures. His interests include second language writing, TESOL teacher development, curriculum theory, linguistic landscape research, and translingual academic publishing practices. Over the last decade Michael has moved between the United States and Korea pursuing both his further professional development and opportunities to contribute to progressive translingual education programs.
