Emily Hodge is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Theory and Policy program at The Pennsylvania State University and managing editor of the American Journal of Education. A former middle school English teacher, she has taught an undergraduate foundations course and supervised preservice English teachers at Penn State. Her research uses qualitative and historical methods to explore how equity-oriented policies are translated into classroom practice.
