Susanna L. Benko is an assistant professor in the English department at Ball State University where she works in the Teaching English/Language Arts program. She teaches methods courses focused on writing instruction and courses in young adult literature. Her research focuses on teacher preparation, curriculum design and secondary writing instruction, specifically on the intersection of tasks and pedagogy. Prior to coming to Ball State, she earned her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, and taught middle and high school English in Indiana and Pennsylvania. Her work can be found in Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy.
