English Teaching: Practice and Critique

Volume 10, Number 4 (December 2011): Focus: Non-themed issue

Co-editors: Terry Locke (University of Waikato, New Zealand) and Hilary Janks (University of Witswatersrand, South Africa)

Rationale:

This issue of English Teaching: Practice and Critique is a post-IFTE issue, that is, an issue that builds on a number of issues raised, either through keynote addresses or papers at the International Federation for the Teaching of English conference, held in Auckland, New Zealand, in April, 2011. However, the issue is also includes contributors who were not at IFTE and are not taking their cue from issues raised there. This issue is genuinely open-themed, and covers a large range of issues pertaining to the teaching of English in L1 and L2 settings.

The Editorial Board expresses its gratitude to the the guest editors of this issue and also to the following (some are members of the Review Board) who have helped with the review process: Margaret Franken (University of Waikato); Laura Dison (University of the Witwatersrand); Judy Hunter (University of Waikato); Jacqui Dornbrack (University of Cape Town); Tommaso Milani (University of the Witwatersrand); Stephanie Jones (University of Georgia); Jackie Manuel (University of Sydney); Amanda Thein (University of Iowa); Teresa Cremin (Open University); Marcia Johnson (University of Waikato).
